Basics in Behavior is an animated music video and the first addition to the Fundamental Paper Education series, however, it is not considered an episode.[1] The video revolves around a student named Claire and her school.
The song featured in the video, which has the same name, is Basics in Behavior by The Living Tombstone.
Plot
The video begins with Claire walking to school. Miss Circle is seen walking down a hallway, while Miss Thavel and Miss Bloomie are seen teaching a class. Despite trying to concentrate in class, Claire is constantly harassed by Edward, Zip, and Oliver, as they throw paper airplanes and paper balls at her face. Abbie, another one of Claire's classmates, ends up failing a test. This incident leads to Miss Circle becoming agitated and smashing a desk. She then proceeds to chase him down a hallway and murders him. Lana, who was following Miss Circle and Abbie, witnesses the murder before ending up being killed herself, as shown later in the video.
After that, in the library, a drone sent by Oliver, Zip, and Edward grabs Claire while she is talking with Engel, and drops her down a pit, disrupting her studies. The scene cuts to a foreshadowing of ∆lice as the duo of Zip and Oliver engage in mischievous behavior.
In the background, Miss Circle can be heard stating, "Do not open ∆lice’s room!" The scene shifts back to Claire as she exits the pit in the library but accidentally collides with Miss Bloomie in the hallway. It is revealed that she has failed her exam. A chase scene ensues, starting with Miss Bloomie, but Miss Thavel and Miss Circle quickly join the pursuit. Claire hides in a locker to avoid Miss Bloomie but is quickly located by Miss Thavel. She continues to rush through the hallways of the school, causing chaos until she is surrounded by the three teachers.
Before Miss Circle could deal a fatal blow, Engel appeared and successfully shielded Claire from her attempt. This allowed her to escape. Engel was then thrown to the side, allowing Claire to quickly dash through one of the rooms and discover the corpses of her deceased classmates. She mistakes ∆lice's room for the exit door as Oliver and Zip had placed a paper above it, which read "Exit." She entered ∆lice's room and subsequently transformed from paper to human. ∆lice launched a powerful attack on her eye, leaving Claire fleeing the scene, with ∆lice following behind. This led the paper school to transition from a 2D appearance to a more colorful 3D appearance.
Upon slaying Claire, ∆lice suddenly vanishes into thin air, leaving all the other students and teachers to stumble across Claire's ravaged, lifeless body. This incident prompts Miss Circle to confront the mischievous duo of Zip and Oliver in an attempt to obtain answers regarding these cruel antics.
